I crocheted this bucket hat without recording a tutorial but I still want to share this with you. So I wrote down the pattern and since it's simple, I think this would be enough to help you crochet this hat. I forgot to mention, the crown of this hat measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter. Excellent video! I have been crocheting for 40 years but do not interpret written directions super well, but it was great you had written up above as you are crocheting making it easy to go along. Plus, having a beige background and a not to dark or too light yarn color which made it so easy to see what stitches you were doing and where you were placing the needle. My granddaughter is turning 3 and is tall for her age so this pattern is perfect. I wish you lived next door so we could talk crochet, so many projects I want to do, and need directions broken down. I gotta search out a crochet buddy. Thx

    any suggestions for yarn substitutions such as a #3 weight yarn? I mean will a #3 alter the size any? thanks for sharing this great idea for a fall topper♥♥

    • @CraftingShed
      @CraftingShed 18 днів тому

      Yes, I think it would alter the size if you use #3 yarn. Maybe add 10 chains to the starting chain and increase 1 pattern repeat each in front and back. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for asking, Susie!

    why 107 if 1 v stitch is equal to 5 chains? please answer.. thank you

    • @CraftingShed
      @CraftingShed 24 дні тому

      It's because of extra chains in the corners (that's what I can recall). There is a comment though from this video that 105 chains worked out perfectly for her/him. So yeah, try starting chains of 105 chains. Thank you for asking.
